"I'm Not Snoring, I'm Listening!"

Paul tries to be a good husband even in his sleep! Last night I was laying in bed, trying to fall asleep and Paul (who by this point had, of course, already been asleep for at least 10 minutes) started to snore so I said "Paul, you're snoring". This tactic usually works. Paul isn't a bad snorer and when he does snore, usually just waking him up briefly will get him to stop so I figured last night would be no different. However, last night I made this statement and instead he responded, rather firmly, "I'm not snoring, I'm listening". I couldn't help myself, I had to ask, "why would you be listening?". He said in a sleepy voice "because you tell such interesting stories". I know it seems stupid to argue but I still said "but I'm not telling any stories, I'm not even talking". He said "of course you are, you just said something". At this point I couldn't argue any more because I was laughing and trying hard not to show it. He was totally asleep and yet trying so hard to say what I wanted to hear. It was so cute.

I tried not to think about the fact that he must do this so often that now it is something he can do in his sleep. I just enjoyed the moment and let the snoring go.

Hilarious. I love your parting comment. Maybe one day I'll have as many funny stories as you do!

I can't even tell you how many times Randy has fallen asleep while listening to me jabber on. Of course the snoring has never been an issue, but he does say some pretty funny things in his sleep that are very random. That is so funny that Paul can actually still carry on a somewhat logical conversation while sleeping.
