Rob, Paul, A Whole Lot of Birthday Parties & Some Fun Facts!!

So as some of you may know, April 16th was Paul's Birthday! He is now 31 years old and even better today then the day I meet him. I'm going to be honest... He is my favorite person in this world and the best at everything he does (even though he did lose a skipping contest to me at the park the other day)... I can't judge him too much, I was the best skipper in my 2nd grade class. Anyway, tonight we had the closing ceremonies for the celebration of his birthday. We had quite a few events and parties on his behalf. Thursday it was Survivor (naturally), then Friday we went to Texas Roadhouse and to ice cream and then to play games with friends. Then tonight we had my family over for cake and Paul's famous homemade ice cream. Since I've already talked WAY too much about how awesome Paul is, I thought I would give you some fun facts about him in celebration of his birthday:

Paul use to be a closet fan of the show Twilight but... I think that's pretty much out in the open now with this birthday gift from my sister Shelley (as embarassed as he was about that, she was thinking of getting him a fourth cat so I think he preferred Rob :)

Paul would rather be Scouting then anything else in this world. When he's not Scouting, he is talking about it to someone, usually his Dad.

Paul is the HOA President and he's really whipped the community into shape (it's not easy dealing with all those elderly people with nothing but time on their hands - Paul is younger then all of them by at least 30 years).

Paul LOVES Jello (way more then normal Utahns).

Paul was born in Provo but his family then moved to Portland Oregon where he lived until he was almost 12.

Paul use to make a girl in a wheelchair carry his backpack for him in elementary school (he claims she volunteered).

If Paul could be any super hero he would be Superman but his favorite super hero movie is Iron Man (I catch him watching it whenever he gets home before me).

When Paul was 13 he thought it would be fun to light a bunch of firecrackers in his bedroom (I'm guessing his Mom didn't think it was as fun).

Paul enjoys cooking and making up recipes. His two favorite ingredients are Pineapple and Brown Sugar.

Paul loves to play the devils advocate. Even if he agrees with you, he will still argue the opposite side just for the heck of it (this has been the cause of several arguements in our marriage).

Paul loves the show Survivor (probably because it involves his two favorite things - the outdoors and people playing the devils advocate) and yet he has only auditioned once for it.

For the first 4 seasons of the show Lost, Paul made fun of everyone that watched it and then one day I found out that he had been watching it when he was out of town... It was tough to take at first, I felt like I didn't even know who he was j/k :)

If Paul could do anything for a living, he would be an all purpose handyman... the only home improvement project he doesn't like doing is painting.

When Paul was a kid he wanted to be a policeman but then when he was 14 he had a bad experience with one and he changed his mind.

Until Paul was 19 he was painfully shy but after his mission he is the most outgoing person I know and loves to be social and try new things.

Paul loves the movie Rat Race and could watch it over and over and never get sick of it.

When Paul first arrived in Argentina on the very first day of his mission, his first companion flipped out, out of no where and started throwing rocks at him and then ran away. When Paul finally caught up with him he was packing his bags to go home... It didn't help that his companion didn't speak any English. It was a messy first day but Paul handled it like a champ and I've never heard him complain about his mission.

Paul is very sensitive to medicaion. About two years ago he took some benedryl and he ended up licking a wall and then talking non-stop for two straight hours about 50 different topics.

Paul only has two topics that he is sensitive about - his hair and the iPhone. If you really want to get him riled up, tell him that you think the Blackberry is better then the iPhone. It wouldn't suprise me if Paul tried to beat Justin Long out for his job doing the Mac commercials.

Paul is stubborn and it's a good and bad thing. Good because he never gives up but bad because he doesn't listen if he is sure he is right. Like in Argentina when they told him not to drink the water but he was sure he could handle it and did it anyway.... and then had a 3 mile walk without a bathroom around :)

Paul is a great sport and he has a great sense of humor and never minds if people joke around with him (mostly because he does it so much to other people). He is very self-assured and never cares what other people think. He is also the greatest person I've ever known and I wouldn't change a thing about him.

I would add he has the most biggest calf muscles around. Maybe he got them from kicking cats that disobey?

That was funny. I think you forgot to mention he has a twin sister. I didn't know he auditioned for Survior. Then again I really didn't know most of those things you posted! Happy Birthday Paul.

We should get the cardboard girl that stars in those shows (pardon my ignorance, I've never seen them). And have a group shot, it would look like a family picture with Steph and Jeff! You have the BEST blogs, so entertaining!

You are hilarious. Jared is part of the iphone cult, so I understand. It's only a matter of time before we end up with a Steve Job's standee in out house somewhere.
